Trademark Registration Process in Turkey
Trademark applications must be submitted via EPATS, TURKPATENT’s electronic system. A single application can cover multiple classes of goods or services.
⦁ Application Submission: The applicant files the application with the required documents.
⦁ Deficiency Check: If any procedural issues arise, applicants have two months to correct them.
⦁ Examination and Rejection: Applications can be refused based on absolute grounds under Article 5 of the law.
⦁ Publication and Opposition Period: If no objections exist, the trademark is published in the Bulletin for a two-month opposition period.
⦁ Final Registration: If no opposition is filed, and the registration certificate fee is paid, the trademark is officially registered. The certificate is issued within one month after payment.
