Foreigners traveling to our country must obtain e-Visas from www.evisa.gov.tr according to their nationality or apply in person at our foreign missions. To avoid delays in visa issuance, it is advisable to submit visa applications at least one month before the planned travel date.
According to the New Foreigners and International Protection Law, the implementation of stamp visa procedures at our border gates is expected to end as of April 11, 2014. However, necessary measures are being taken to continue the existing application for a while longer, including the 2015 tourism season.
Visa applications for tourism or commercial purposes can be made through the Electronic Visa Application System (www.evisa.gov.tr). Since the launch of the Electronic Visa Application System in 2013, it has been possible to obtain e-Visas practically in an average of 3 minutes from any point with an internet connection. Necessary regulations are being made to strengthen the e-Visa infrastructure. In this context:
Information regarding visa fees can be accessed on our Ministry’s website.
According to Article 7(b) of the Foreigners and International Protection Law, as of January 1, 2015, foreigners entering our country are required to carry a “passport or document in lieu of a passport that is valid for at least 60 days from the expiration of the visa, visa exemption, or residence permit period.”
Pursuant to Article 2 of the said Law, provisions of international agreements to which we are a party and which have entered into force according to their procedures, as well as provisions in special laws, are reserved in the implementation of the Law, and those falling under the provisions registered below will be exempted from the aforementioned provision and will be considered outside the scope of application:
a) Citizens of the countries listed in the link below who travel with identity cards under the “European Agreement on the Travels of Persons between Member States of the Council of Europe”;
b) Holders of the country passports listed in the link below that are considered valid for certain periods, even if expired;

Following this application, the employer must also apply to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (ÇSGB) with the documents requested by the Ministry within ten working days. You can find the list of these documents on the ÇSGB’s website (http://www.csgb.gov.tr/). Applications are finalized by ÇSGB within 30 days.
